Privacy
This page explains what this website records about your visit, why, who receives it, and how long we keep it. It covers this website only, not the TriangulAIte product. Questions go to steve@triangulaite.com.
What we record when you visit
We record how you use the site so we can see which pages work and improve the rest. That means the pages you view, what you click (including the words on the link or button), how far you scroll, how long you stay, which questions you open, how quickly pages load, and any errors a page hits. If you copy text or print a page, we note that you did, never what you copied.
We also record your browser and its version, your operating system and type of device, your screen and window size, your language and time zone, and whether the browser is automated. Cloudflare, which runs the site, works out your country and region from your connection, and we keep those and the name of your network provider. We never record your city or anything more precise. If you arrived from a link or an ad, we record the site you came from, the page you landed on, and any campaign tags or ad click identifiers in the address.
We don't store your IP address. It's used for a moment to work out your country and to stop floods of automated traffic, then dropped. We don't keep Cloudflare's per-request logs for this site.
Forms and booking a call
Before you press the button on our contact form, we never read what you type. We do record how the form is filled in, such as the time spent in each field, how many characters it held, and whether you corrected or pasted, so we can see where people get stuck. Where tracking is on, your unfinished answers are saved in your own browser so they're still there if you come back, and they never leave it until you press the button.
Where tracking is on, when you press Continue with a valid email address, we keep your email and firm. We link them to the random identifier in your browser, so we can see how you found us and which pages you read.
The calendar is provided by Cal.com and runs Cal.com's own code, so Cal.com's privacy policy covers what it collects inside the calendar. It receives your email and firm, and, where tracking is on, our random identifiers for you and your visit, and any ad click identifier, so a booking can be matched to your visit. When you book, Cal.com sends us the booking with your name, email, and time zone. We keep the booking details even if you declined tracking, because we need them to hold the meeting.
Recordings of visits
We record visits as replays, up to 30 minutes on each page, showing what was on the screen, where the mouse moved, and what was clicked and scrolled. Anything typed into a form is masked in the browser before it's sent, and the calendar isn't recorded at all. Recordings are stored on Google Cloud and deleted after 90 days.
Cookies and your browser
We set a cookie with a random identifier so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one. It contains nothing about who you are and lasts 13 months. When you send us your email, a second cookie with another random identifier links your later visits to that record, and it also lasts 13 months. If we ask for your consent, a third cookie remembers your answer, for 13 months if you agreed and six months if you declined. In your browser's own storage we keep where you arrived from and your unfinished form answers. When Google Analytics is running, it sets its own cookies.
Where we ask first
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Switzerland, and Quebec are asked before any tracking, cookies, browser storage, or recording starts. So is anyone whose location we can't work out. Until you answer, and after you decline, the server keeps only a bare note of each page request, with the page, the names but not the values of anything in its address, the site you came from, the Cloudflare data center that answered, your country and region, and whether your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Nothing in it identifies your browser. If you decline, we also note that someone declined. You can change your answer with the cookie settings link at the bottom of each page. Declining clears our cookies, our browser storage, and Google Analytics' cookies, but not what was recorded while you'd agreed. Write to us to have that deleted.
Elsewhere, we record visits as described above without asking first. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising uses, so Google gets no advertising signals from your visit and your email is never used to measure ads.
Who receives it
Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the code that receives these records. We store them on Google Cloud. Cal.com handles bookings, as described above.
When Google Analytics is running, it receives the same events we record, labeled with our random identifiers only, never your name, email, or firm. Your browser connects to Google to send them, so Google also sees your IP address, as it does on any site that uses it.
We note how our conversations with people who contact us go, such as whether we've sent a proposal. If you came from a Google ad and later book a call (once its time has passed and it wasn't cancelled), or we mark you as a likely fit, send you a proposal, or start working with you, we tell Google Ads so it can measure which ads work. We send the ad click identifier, which result it was and when, its value if it's a deal, and a scrambled copy of your email (a SHA-256 hash, which Google can match to its own accounts but which doesn't reveal the address). We send this only if your browser didn't send a Global Privacy Control signal and, where we asked, you agreed. Once sent, it can't be recalled.
We don't sell your information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Records of visits are kept for two years and recordings for 90 days, then deleted automatically. Google Analytics keeps visit-level data for 14 months. Your email, firm, booking details, and our notes on how our conversations went are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Seeing or deleting your information
To have what we hold about you deleted, write to steve@triangulaite.com from the email you gave us. We'll start the deletion the same day, in our records, our recordings, Google Analytics, and Cal.com, and tell you when it's done. To see what we hold, write to the same address and we'll send it within 30 days.
